WiSA Overview

“The WiSA Evolution”

WiSA Environmental Soil & Water Management Systems control/monitor plant & soil moisture providing sustainable food supplies, housing, streetscapes, green city’s, roof gardens and many more applications.

Explanation of equipment.

The principles in the design of the equipment is to allow better use of water, more time to manage the farm other than being at the irrigation night and day, and to help promote better healthier crops with higher quality and yields.

The system is connected to a dedicated PC 24 hours per day 7 days per week to get the optimum data and utilization of the equipment. The system works in real-time, that is, what is happening now not last week or 8 hours past etc.

The WiSA system is unique and all design is based on Radio Telemetry and all integrated components are part of the design not an add – on. Each of the modular units is designed as a repeater in its own right, and we operate on an unlicensed band. As in all radio transmissions some areas may have problems for one reason or another and a site visit and test may be required before commencement of project and final pricing with choice of antennas to be utilized.

Because of the design in unit modules the farmer purchases only what is required to do the job at hand or we can specifically build to the farmers or on Farm requirements.

Software is Aqualink and GroGraph.

Aqualink is the complete control and communications package software and is user friendly. GroGraph is the data, graphing and information storage. All information of when valves, pumps, fertigation etc. were open or closed are time date stamped, and all information data is printable and is automatically archived. This software has won high Awards for its’ operation and results in the Irrigation Industry

Control Module 8

The control Module will operate 8 outputs which could be valves, lights, heaters, coolers, pumps, fertigation and anything that needs to be turned on or off as required. This module will run AC voltages continuous mode for valves or pump relays, DC voltage in latching mode for latching valves or relays or timed DC mode for the operation of DC motors for opening or closing bay doors, gates etc.

To this module we have SDI 12 for sensor input as standard and will receive data input from any SDI 12 Sensor – such as Sentek Enviroscan Soil moisture, Weather etc. This is ahead of it time.

Hybrid 4/4

Input output module will receive data from a range of sensors, analogue, digital, SDI 12 and monibus this just means that it will read almost any sensor on these formats, Soil Moisture, Weather station sensors, pressure, flow, temperature etc. etc. and control 4 valves or 3 valves and 1 pump or any operation as required.

Sentek, Aquaflex, Echo, Gropoint soil moisture probes can be read by this module.

Radio Power Head

This module contains the battery, solar panel, radio transceiver and antenna all mounted and complete. It is ready to connect into the required module, Control or Hybrid 4/4 or combination of units.

Base Station and PC interface

The PC interface module connects to your PC and the base radio is outside above your roof line and close to line of site of all other units. Base radio is connected to the Interface with a 4 core cable that supplies power and communications to the PC.

Use of flexible power

The flexible nature of design means that we can use solar power and battery or mains power to energize our system. This can save money if solar panels are not required etc. or if your existing system has 24 volt AC. It is simple for us to use either method.

A Management System you can work from anywhere in the world.

With the use of remote control software, such as VNC or even Windows XP Professional's remote desktop, you can connect to your property from anywhere in the world, check the soil moisture/weather conditions and then alter scheduled irrigation events if required. Basically operate your management system as if you where still on the property and in front of your computer.

VNC is free and can be downloaded in various flavours from the internet.

It will even call you if a fault occurs

We have a system dial out feature, to warn you of faults that need your urgent attention.

A mobile telephone system that uses SMS

Yes, we can do this with the mobile telephone as well. Pivots and municipality sports grounds and Irrigation etc. this can also be used in conjunction with our radio telemetry products.

Crop and system Management

Rural - Waste Water – Re forestation – EPA and Environmental – Mining - Municipality – Suburbia – Hydroponics

We offer a Crop management services. Our people understand different types of soils, different plant and root structures, these professionals are fully trained Agronomists – and result driven.

Hydroponics and system Management

This has been a new area for WiSA to service but now with the scientific knowledge of Joe Crane of Cyber Hydroponics in Queensland and James Afford of WiSA in Adelaide we have now completed a fully automated fertigation and irrigation control system for hydroponics.

The WiSA control system functions as a multi level fertigation controller to provide optimal nutrient levels to accelerate growth rate's while maintain healthy and, more importantly, tasty eating plants.

The system is so flexible that it can maintain different fertigation mixes across multi shade house, or even within the same growing house.
All this is done with minimal input from the grower or operator, allow them to be doing other more important things.

Ghost Gully Produce, Queensland was the first WiSA irrigation Solutions site growing high Quality and Yield produce in hydroponics.
Congratulations to Gary who has taken out the First Prize in the Gatton Annual Show for his produce.

Notes on Irrigation Design

Many irrigation systems have been under designed and do not meet crop requirements in adverse weather conditions. The application of moisture is the most important source to growing high quality and yield crops of any kind. If the irrigation system is poorly designed for any reason, you will not get the best result from your land, Water or Crop. Good design is an efficient tool and would be determined as an over designed system if price is introduced into the decision of ordering an Irrigation system. Your investment into your future starts at this design point, and you should know your soil types throughout your farm, have a good farm plan, and know the crops to be grown to which soil type. It is good practice to have same crop to same soil type with valves and hydraulic design to suite efficiency of water delivery.

Environmental Issues

As many Environmental Issues need to be addressed, professionals in this area have offered their services to our Customers. This has been an important development as we do not know what the future will hold as far as Government decisions go on Water and Land requirements, restrictions, Green house issues and the lack of Water. Without Environmental studies or knowledge of these issues it will be very hard to open up more land or even shift water from one block to another. Salinity is a growing problem that can be mapped and maybe controlled in certain ways for land to become productive again.

EM38 and 31 soil mapping, soil sciences are available from Advanced Soil Mapping.

We offer to our clients a genuine professional service in Irrigation design, Irrigation and Crop management, with equipment designed and manufactured by WiSA from what Farmers around the country have told us they needed, if we do not have hardware or software to do the job at hand we will design and make it happen.

Your investment, Your decision, make the most of it for the future.
