ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY AND COST EFFECTIVE
Most countries spend up to 25% of their GDP – a massive proportion of their wealth - on providing shelter for the population.
The cost of housing – labour and materials - continues to rise exponentially, and the need for raw materials puts increasing
pressure on the environment.
A new answer to an age-old problem is required; a better way to address chronic housing shortage across the globe; a more
environmentally friendly and cost-eective approach to the challenge of building quickly and efficiently in even the most challenging of locations - including deserts and previously uninhabited areas.

ABOUT QUIKLOC BUILDING SYSTEM (QBS)
QBS, a member of the Australian VDM Group of companies, has developed the product to provide that answer. Thanks to leading edge technology, the use of highly evolved modern materials and advanced manufacturing techniques, QBS brings the possibility of high quality, mass produced accommodation to the marketplace.  Our unique selling proposition is to introduce low cost, durable, thermally efficient and environmentally friendly building systems to clients who require rapid response, quick turnaround times with a semi-skilled labour force.

BUILT QUICK
The concept of ‘affordable housing’ used to be just a dream for many. Now, QBS is in the business of turning those dreams into reality.

A NEW APPROACH TO BUILDING
Traditional building relies on bulk mass or individual component wooden framing to provide strength and integrity. The resulting cost in natural raw materials and time-consuming labour charges is, however, prohibitive.
In contrast, QBS utilises lightweight, man-made materials with state-of-the-art design to provide prefabricated, easily transportable building structures that secure lightweight partition walls and steel roof trusses right through to the foundations. The whole structure is therefore literally ‘tied down’ and benets from the individual strength of the component parts. Buildings using QBS technology are inherently tough, durable and quick to erect with semi-skilled labour.

Concept to Completion
EXCELLENCE IN ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION
APPLICATIONS FOR QBS TECHNOLOGY INCLUDE

Permanent or semi-permanent housing to support the development of infrastructure in newly created communities.
Large-scale housing schemes for remote communities - Low rise commercial developments
Mining and construction camps in remote locations - Defence Force accommodation.
QBS – THE KEY BENEFITS
QBS components are factory produced, and lead times are low. For example, a 500 unit development could be ready for
handover within just six months of order placement
Large-scale housing schemes can be erected in a fraction of the time required by traditional building methods.

Accommodation is easy and straightforward to erect with a minimum of semi-skilled labour
The panels are light and weatherproof, as well as strong and resilient
The use of timber is negligible, with a resulting benefit to the Environment
There is no need for expensive crane hire on site
The panels are fat packed for easy, economical transportation
Low site waste as a result of factory manufacture
QBS products are environmentally friendly, energy efficient with excellent acoustic and thermal properties
Flexible design options. Thanks to modular construction, a home utilising QBS can be adapted for virtually any design considerations
Panels can be used in their natural state – or nished with other types of cladding
QBS buildings are designed to withstand cyclonic conditions and earthquakes up to 6.5 on the Richter Scale.
Timber is a valuable resource, and QBS, which uses steel framing, removes the need for wooden framing and partitions
The panels offer excellent acoustic properties as well as thermal efficiency, with resulting benefits in terms of heating in winter and air-conditioning in summer.

WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS NOW
Is better, cheaper, faster ways of providing shelter. QBS is an important part of the Answer.
